FULL TIME SECURITY OFFICER

A full-time permanent position has become available for a Security Officer in the Landside Services Department of the Portland Port Group of Companies.

Reporting directly to the Police and Security Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience in security and shift-work

An ability to work alone.

That they can use their own initiative

That they can recognise set limits of discretion

As the first point of contact for visitors and customers entering the port this is a high-profile position requiring excellent interpersonal skills, professional manner, and smart appearance.

Port Security Officers have unique and privileged access to secure information and therefore need to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality. 

A flexible approach to working hours is essential. The Shift pattern will be six 8-hour shifts worked over 8 days, including early, late and night shifts to cover 24/7.
